Carl Sievewright CMIOSH CMaPS - Director
Carl is a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner with more than 10 years’ experience in engineering, construction and contractor management. He is also a Certified Member of the Association of Project Safety, and an OHSCR registered H&S consultant, as well as an affiliate member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. Carl has been involved with all CDM duty holders, including Client CDM advisor for defence construction projects in excess of £100,000,000.
Carl has advised principal designers, helping put together pre-construction information packs, carrying out site inspections, through to compiling the health & safety file and operations & maintenance manuals. These vary from housing developments, commercial properties, interior fit out and retail fit out projects. Carl has also worked as health and safety manager for some well-respected shopfitting contractors, and has been involved as principal contractor for projects in many major shopping centres and retail destinations throughout the United Kingdom, as well as in various railway stations and airports.
Mark Burton TechIOSH - Construction Safety Advisor
Mark has over 40 years’ experience working as a Project Manager in the retail and interior fit out industry both contractor and client side. This has involved projects from small scale roll-outs, up to a twenty eight million pound hotel new-build and managing Contract Management teams. Mark brings the skills and understanding of the Project Manager to the health & safety role. This enables us to assist Clients in realistically assessing the design risks, from real contract experience and producing pre-construction information packs.
For Contractors, Mark is able to provide genuine experience of determining construction risks, assist in planning temporary works and helping assess the implications of the design on the programme. This may continue to assist in reviewing the impact on any changes to the nature of the work. Mark is ideally placed to assist contractors in fulfilling their legal obligations with regard to health & safety and provide support to the site management team.
Emma Andrews – Health, Safety & CDM Administrator
Emma joined the company in October 2019 to manage with the key administrative roles in the business and manage all the social media platforms for the company. Emma has more than 10 years experience of people management, excellent customer service and has impeccable organisation skills. Through hands on learning, Emma has gained a wealth of experience with her knowledge in administration, record keeping and accurate data input.
Prior to joining Saxon Safety Emma worked in the financial sector, working for the largest building society in the country and specifically managing one of the largest customer branches for the company. This experience provided invaluable transferable skills that help keep the business running smoothly.
Having passed her IOSH Managing safely in 2019, Emma is now taking a Certificate in Principles of Business Administration to help continue improving her skill set, knowledge and capabilities within the team.
